Check where the material can go

Disposal facilities and haulers have their own rules for carpet, padding, roll size, weight, and who may use the site. The destination should be checked before anyone promises recycling or a particular disposal method.

Make the material safe to move

Carpet is usually cut into smaller rolls and secured for carrying. Padding may need bags or separate bundles when it tears or crumbles.

  • Keep rolls manageable
  • Separate unrelated renovation debris
  • Protect the path through the property
  • Make sure the vehicle can handle the volume

Be careful with recycling claims

Carpet recycling depends on the material, condition, and facilities taking it at that time. A trustworthy company will not promise recycling until it has a confirmed destination.
