Before asking for an estimate
Count the rooms, take wide photos, show the stairs and doorways, and include the path to the closest loading area. Rough measurements are helpful but do not have to be perfect.
- Room photos
- A loose edge if one is already visible
- Furniture that will stay
- Parking, gates, or elevator rules
Before work begins
Remove small belongings, keep pets safe, decide who will open the property, and share any alarm or building instructions. Do not pull up good carpet just to inspect it.
Before new flooring arrives
Ask the flooring installer what the bare floor needs to look like and leave time to deal with anything the carpet was hiding.
