Make sure the property is ready
Confirm that the unit is vacant, keys and alarm instructions are available, utilities are on if needed, and someone has authority to approve the work. A removal crew should not be left to sort out access or possession questions.
Photograph the rooms before and after
Before photos show the amount of carpet, furniture, stains, stairs, and loading route. After photos show the floor that was hidden without trying to diagnose the cause of every mark.

Protect the turnover calendar
Leave a little time between carpet removal and new flooring. If the old carpet hides a repair, a same-day installation may no longer make sense.
